2ND TERM PROJECT

EMOJI STORYTELLING
ENGLISH & COMPUTING PROJECT

Every generation has its own lingo and communication systems that make it unique with respect to its predecessors. Based on the mass use of IM apps, so-called emojis are the new revolution in digital language. We use emoticons daily on our smartphones. In the beginning, emoticons were created based on characters, but at the end of the 90's graphic equivalents in the form of small icons began to be used to represent all sorts of elements beyond different mood faces.Japan's largest mobile service provider,NTT DOCOMO, was the first to integrate it in its services but it wasn't until 2007 that these icons were introduced in UNICODE standard so they could be used on any system capable of reading it. The same emoticon looks different on an iPhone, an Android device, or the Google messaging tool.
Emojis have reached such a degree of integration in our daily lives that our brains have adapted to their use in ways that we're not even aware of.
So, our next project deals with emoticons and the way we can amazingly tell stories without using a single word!!

GUIDELINES FOR YOUR PROJECT:
  • Make a two-student group
  • Create a three- minute presentation
  • Relate a whole story just using emoticons: A story, a song, a fairytale, a news report, a biography, an invention, the school, anything you consider "emojitold"; of course, RUDENESS won't be allowed.
  • You can record your presentation using the whiteboard in your Computer Lab; we think creating a video would make you feel more confident when telling the story.
  • Make sure audio controls work properly.
  • If you consider using another system will work, let us  know!
  • Intonation will be very important!
  • Further details will be provided by María Vaquero

  • DEADLINE: 20TH FEBRUARY

NICE COMEDY SKETCH

"SAME PROCEDURE AS EVERY YEAR?"

This sketch is very easy to understand even with a basic knowledge of english due to the general PHYSICAL NATURE of the comedy.
Miss Sophie has invited her friends on her 90th anniversary day, but they unfortunately all died some time ago...the dinner goes ahead as usual and her guests "are"... ( Sir Toby, Mr Winterbottom, Admiral von Scheneider, Mr Pommeroy). Butler James takes the places of all of Miss Sophie's long dead friends...
ENJOY!!!
