COMPUTING & ENGLISH PROJECT

Dear Bretonians!
The following GUIDELINES  are part of our next project; María Vaquero, your computing teacher will explain the process in the classroom.

Create an animated GIF related to an aspect of the English culture to post on your blog

An animated GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) file is a graphic image on a Web page that moves - for example, a twirling icon or a banner with a hand that waves or letters that magically get larger. In particular, an animated GIF is a file in the Graphics Interchange Format specified as GIF89a that contains within the single file a set of images that are presented in a specified order. An animated GIF can loop endlessly (and it appears as though your document never finishes arriving) or it can present one or a few sequences and then stop the animation. Animated GIFs are frequently used in Web ad banners.
It has been one of the most popular formats of images on the Internet for the past few years. These files are shared on social media and on instant messaging applications (or apps). As emoticons or emojis, gifs are used to transmit a feeling or emotion.

How to create an animated gif
There are many options:  The GIMP , Unfreez or gifmaker (http://gifmaker.me)
You must choose same sized images to obtain a uniform result.
Once you have selected the images, just select the order of appearance and the animation speed.
Insert a text related to Tomás Bretón to your image.
Finally, save the file as gif format.
Share  the image with Informatica.villamayor@gmail.com through Google drive.

How to create an animation from a video

There are many options: Format Factory or QGifer.

To create a gif from a video, insert the video URL and set the beginning and the end of the scene, and finally adjust the options: size, color and loop.
It is more advantageous to use a GIF than a small video.
Although we have the option to convey the same idea with a small video, GIF has technical and educational advantages to consider:
• Touch Play: The animated image is so small that it plays immediately even when viewed from the mobile phone. A video often requires action to start playing with a slight delay depending on the speed of our WIFI connection or the cellular network.
• Playing in the same email: Animated GIFs can be uploaded and displayed within an email in the same way you do with a normal image. In case you want to show a video in an email, given the size of the file, you have to enter a link for playback outside of the email, either on YouTube or another external platform. If the recipient of the email does not click on the link, you will lose your explanation.

Please, don't forget to send me the file!                                         ENJOY!!!!

DEADLINE:  OCTOBER 26TH
